Labrador Stud Pedigree Rooster

Susana Labrador carefully screens all of our Labrador Retrievers for PRA,
Hip dysplasia and Elbow dysplasia. We
carefully screen all breeding stock, prior to being used in our
breeding program. Between 6 and 12 months, Each Labrador is properly
positioned and X-Rayed for proper hip joint setting and Alignment. The
X-rays are sent to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) this test
will provide us with preliminary results. The procedure is repeated when the
Labrador Retriever is over 24 months of age, Hip X-rays sent to the OFA, as
well as Elbow X-rays sent OFEL,
we then receive
an OFA/OFEL Final result. We have found the Cohen’s, at Newport Beach
Veterinary hospital are the nation’s top radiologist for this procedure.
Each
Labrador is also tested for Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) by a licensed
Animal Ophthalmologist. The results from this test are sent to the Canine
Eye Registration Foundation (CERF).
If
all three of these tests are performed the same year, an additional
certification is provided from CHIC with all results stated on one
certificate.
